    I've never been so intrigued and in tuned with a piece of reading. I finished the book in less than 72 hours. This book is powerful, bringing every reader into the cold streets of LA. This is by far one of the best books I've ever read.

    I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great thriller. I come south central LA in the same area Monster Kody grew up in and its crazy to actually read stories about the things that took place in my own backyard. Although the events happened in the late 70s early 80s I can relate to many of the trials and tribulations Monster Kody have been through. I think every inner city black male especially from LA should definitely pick up this book it is guaranteed to change the way you think.

    A great insight into the evolution and deconstruction of an LA Gang-Banger as well as a look into a gang culture and the crip on crip violence, which in most cases is more prevalent than the crip on blood violence, often missed by the media.

    This is a great book telling the real life experience of a young man growing up in a violent gang world .He did a great job with the detail of events, I felt like I was standing rite there watching every part of his struggle as it unfold.everyone who has struggle to find their way in life should read this book. There is lesson to be learned here.
